The Rotary Council on Legislation
Rotary is not a static institution. It may not react immediately to cultural and economic changes, but there is a mechanism in place for regularly reviewing, and occasionally acting upon, suggestions for improvement in the way it carries forward its mission. Every three years, delegates from each of the 534 districts around the world gather in Evanston to review proposals for change. Together those delegates constitute the Council on Legislation (the “COL”). The representative from each district serves for three years, culminating in the week-long COL, which is usually held in April of the third year of the term. The current term for COL Representatives is from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2026,
and I have been honored to be selected to serve as the Representative from District 5170 for this term.
