Starting the new year, we are happy that all Rotaractors abided by the codes and ensured that all meetings were conducted in a safe manner. Many of them also made sure to help out in ways to prevent the spread of COVID.

Oakland Community Rotaract Club has been a part of UMOJA outreach in partnership with Oakland Frontline Healers. They have been volunteering to not only help people with testing for COVID-19, but also promoting checkups through the distribution of flyers to the local community.

Moreover, people who are isolating need emotional support. The Rotaract Club of Santa Cruz County made sure to create cards for isolated seniors in UCSC before their finals to make sure they feel supported and get a boost. The next step for the community is to ensure people stay safe and get vaccinated once it is accessible by the public.

Thank you to all who have helped out with the pandemic.

Mohammad Alhamoudi, Rotaract District Governor
