The District is pleased to announce that the Nominating Committee, chaired by PDG Susan Valenta, has selected Hung Wei of the Rotary Club of Cupertino to serve as District Governor for the 2023-2024 Rotary year.
 
Hung has served as the Rotary District 5170 Membership Chair over the past four years, was an Assistant Governor for Area 8, and has supported many District events including the annual District Conference, District Training Assembly, and Avenues of Service. A champion of The Rotary Foundation, she has traveled with Rotary grant projects in Mexico and Asia.  Hung is passionate about service and has dedicated thousands of hours to her community and to the family of Rotary.
 
As Membership Chair Hung led Rotary District 5170 in being #1 in the United States in 2019/2020. During her year as President (2014/2015), the Rotary Club of Cupertino continued its upward trajectory with membership growth, fund development, and service projects.  She is the recipient of numerous awards including Community Leaders of the Year Award from Silicon Valley DECA, U.S. President’s ‘Gold’ Volunteer Service Award, Distinguished Service Award from the Northwest YMCA, and the Karl Stucki Award for Contributions to the Rotary Ideal. 
 
Hung is married to Ta-Wei (Chien) and they have two adult sons. David is 34 years old and is a graduate of UCLA, and Dustin is 30 years old and is a graduate from New York University.
