The short tutorial below will show you exactly how to add a video to a story or page in your ClubRunner website. If you are simply looking to post a video that is already exists on YouTube (eg. a video from the RI YouTube channel) you can skip the rest of this paragraph. If you are looking add your own video to your ClubRunner website you must first create a YouTube account and channel then upload that video to YouTube. We will not be covering how to create a YouTube channel here but you can find a full set of instructions on how to do that here: http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/static.py?hl=en&page=guide.cs&guide=1646810&topic=1646870

In order to embed a YouTube video into a story or page on your ClubRunner website follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the video you wish to embed.
  2. Click the Share button located under the video (image 1).
  3. Click the Embed button (image 1).
  4. Copy the code provided in the expanded box.
  5. Navigate back to the ClubRunner story editor and click the HTML button at the bottom of the editor screen (image 2). It is important to note that unless you are in the HTML view you can't successfully paste in the YouTube embed code.
  6. Paste the code into your story in the desired place.
  7. Finally click the Design button at the bottom of the editor screen (image 2).

You may also customize your own embeddable player by clicking on the embed code. When you click on the embed code the space below it will expand and reveal customization options such as:

  • whether or not to include related or suggested videos
  • whether or not to enable privacy-enhanced mode
  • whether or not to use use the old embed code
  • the size
