As illustrated in the figure below, the four major objectives of the Eradication and Endgame Strategic Plan are not sequential but will run in parallel. Whilst activities to interrupt transmission are ongoing, significant planning is required for the remaining objectives, and some activities are intended to run over the course of this plan. For example:  routine immunization strengthening.

MILESTONES AND TIMING 
Although interruption cannot be guaranteed by an exact date, given the various challenges and factors that may intervene, the GPEI expects to achieve key programmatic milestones according to the following timeline:
